Nestled at the foot of Mount Stratoniko, Olympiada is a coastal sanctuary that offers a different perspective of Halkidiki. Far from the crowded beach bars of Kassandra, this village is all about Pure & Natural beauty, crystal clear waters, and deep-rooted history. It is the perfect destination for families and those seeking a more Authentic Greek experience.

Aristotle’s Park: A Playground for the Mind

Just a 10-minute drive from the coast, in the historic mountain village of Stagira, lies Aristotle’s Park. This is the oldest theme park in Halkidiki and a must-visit for families. Dedicated to the great philosopher, the park features interactive scientific instruments that demonstrate the physical laws Aristotle described in his works.

As you walk through the lush gardens, you can experiment with:

  • The Compass: Indicating the distance and direction to famous cities around the world.
  • Telescopes: Offering stunning views of the Strymonic Gulf and the Holy Mountain (Mount Athos).
  • Solar Clock: A precise ancient method of telling time using the sun's shadow.
  • Parabolic Reflectors & Optical Disks: Fun experiments with sound waves and visual perception that will fascinate both kids and adults.

The park is not only educational but also offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the region, making it a great spot for Activities and photography.

Ancient Stageira & Natural Wonders

Olympiada is built right next to the archaeological site of Ancient Stageira, the birthplace of Aristotle. You can easily spend a morning hiking through the ruins and then cool off at one of the small, secluded beaches at the base of the Liotopi peninsula.

If you crave more Adventure & Exploration, head inland to the Varvara Waterfalls. Tucked away in a dense forest of alder and beech trees, these twin waterfalls offer a refreshing escape from the summer heat and a glimpse into the wild side of North Halkidiki.

🍽️ Gastronomy Tip: Olympiada is famous for its mussel farming. Make sure to visit a local tavern and try "Saganaki Mussels" or steamed mussels—they are harvested daily and are widely considered the best in Greece!

The Beaches of Olympiada

The main beach of the village is sandy, shallow, and very Family Friendly. However, if you drive a few minutes towards Ierissos, you will find several "hidden" coves with turquoise waters and golden sand, surrounded by thick pine forests that reach the water's edge.
